Title The Power of Experience in Changing Disaster Awareness - A Case Study of Disaster Experience VR at Kokubunji City PTA

At the "Yonshō Disaster Prevention DAY" organized by the PTA of Kokubunji City Fourth Elementary School in Tokyo, our disaster experience VR demonstrated new possibilities in disaster prevention education. The event utilized our VR technology as part of a comprehensive disaster prevention education program, in collaboration with the fire department and local disaster prevention groups.

[Event Features]

 Comprehensive hands-on disaster prevention program

Diverse disaster prevention learning including VR experiences

Practical disaster training by the fire department

 Collaboration with local communities

The reactions from participants were remarkable. Many voiced comments such as: "I felt like I was really there, and it was scary" "It was incredibly realistic and engaging" These responses indicate that participants were able to experience disasters as tangible events, rather than just viewing them on screens.

Post-event surveys showed impressive results: 92.3% of participants reported being "satisfied" with the experience. Regarding changes in disaster awareness, 53.8% reported their awareness had "significantly increased," while 46.2% noted it had "somewhat increased," clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of experiential learning in changing mindsets.

Our disaster experience VR system includes thorough countermeasures against VR sickness, resulting in zero accidents or injuries among over 13,000 users to date. We also provide comprehensive warranty coverage for equipment, including repairs and replacements for unavoidable damage.

While budget constraints often challenge local disaster prevention activities, we maintain high quality while offering the industry's most competitive rental rates. This is because we believe disaster prevention education should not be limited to a select few.

Our mission is to provide the "experience" of disasters to as many people as possible, from children to adults, transforming their "awareness" and "behavior" regarding disaster prevention.

The system can be utilized in various settings, from community disaster prevention activities to PTA events. We invite you to incorporate our disaster experience VR into your effective disaster prevention education programs. ▶ Contact us Note on "PTA" in Japan

In Japan, PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is a vital organization that operates in nearly every public school. Unlike PTAs in some other countries, Japanese PTAs are deeply integrated into school operations and community activities.

They play a crucial role in organizing educational events, safety initiatives, and disaster preparedness programs.

Membership typically includes all parents of enrolled students and school staff, making it a powerful platform for community engagement and educational support.

At elementary schools like Kokubunji City Fourth Elementary School, PTAs often take the lead in organizing disaster prevention activities, recognizing their unique position to bridge school safety protocols with home preparedness.

Their initiatives help create a comprehensive approach to disaster readiness that extends beyond the school walls into the broader community.
